Cancun

I haven't blogged in for EVER, but so much has been going on that I just haven't had time... It's been CAH-RAZY!!! Let me just tell you, when it rains it frikkin POURS and that's what basically happened the afternoon AFTER I wrote my last post.... I have so much to talk about... from my 30th birthday, to our house (!!!), and our Cancun trip, but I'll have to save it all for later when I gots the time to write it all up.... In the meantime, here's a picture from our balcony in our hotel in Cancun. Our view was Beautiful. It was awesome..... Despite some hiccups with our excursions, we had a great time.... I really miss Cancun and I can't wait to go back again....

Booked.

Finally! We booked our flight and hotel to Cancun! Whooooohooo! I'm so excited =) We're going April 16 - April 20 so it'll be a mini-vacation for my 30th birthday =) The good thing is, we got a great deal with good flights ($551 per person!). Sometimes on Expedia, you can get great deals, but the flights are like 15 hours with 3 stops! Hahaha. It took a while to book and research because I was little hesitant in staying at Hyatt Regency where there is no direct beach access.... but after talking with Angela, it sounds like getting to a beach won't be a problem AT ALL..... Plus, the pool at Hyatt seems to be pretty cool anyway.... we can always chill there, too!

Now if I can just learn how to swim by April, LOL ..... GEEZ.

When we had our walking tour in Mdina in Malta, we passed by this sign which happened to be posted I believe in front of a restaurant... or something.... CAH-RAZY!!!!

Miss Europe & World International

While we were on the cruise, there was a pageant going on for Miss Europe and World International.... It was pretty interesting..... During the Q&A portion of the pageant, they asked the following:

Host: What does S.O.S mean?
Contestant 1: (with confidence) Save Our Ship (Ooof!)
Host: Thank You. (what?!? that's it?)

Host: If you could serve food from your country on this ship, what would it be?
Contestant 2: Vodka & Bosch (don't know what Bosch is, but WHY.. WHY of all foods from your country would one of them be VODKA????)

Host: What is a sexton?
Contestant 3: A what?
Host: A sexton.
Contestant 3: I know what sex is but I don't know what sexton is.
Host: (silence... he didn't know what sexton was either...) Do you know what sexton is? (he asks the other host, but shrugs cuz she doesn't know either) OK!! (awkardness) Well, thank you... Next contestant.

Host: If you could take this ship anywhere, where would you want to go?
Contestant 4: Hawaii
Host: Why?
Contestant: I don't know... I just want to go there.
Host:OK................. (hahahah)

Host: If you could name an island, what would you name it?
Contestant 5: Funnies and Love
(hahahaha... mind you this was translated, so who knows if this was translated correctly)

Just this Q&A was worth going to the pageant alone... HELLA RETARDED questions with HELLA RETARDED answers, hahahah... WHAT ARE THESE QUESTIONS? And HOW are these questions suppose to tell us more about the contestant?????

OH! And another thing about this pageant was that the host spoke a different language (forgot what - German or French) so everytime he spoke, it had to be translated and everytime he said a joke - the laughing was HELLA delayed, hahahahahahaha!!!!!!! Gosh, the translation in between made the pageant seem HELLA LONG!

OH!!! And while the pageant was going on, the ship was hella rocking so the contestants were hella losing balance throughout the whole show, LMAO. When they were all standing, you could see their stances more wider and all their bodies moving left to right from the swaying, hahahahahaha..... It was HELLA FUNNY dude. like WHY would you put on a pageant on a boat when these girls have to wear hella high heels!!!! HAHAHAHHAHAHAH..... Freakin HILAIRE dude.

We're Baaaaaack

We're baaaack... Although it feels really great to be back in our own bed and at home (almost unpacked), it REALLY sucks going back to reality. Especially with having to go back to work and having to pay the bills and all. Two weeks out of country was a really GOOD break to be away from everything... From work, from paying bills, from monotony, and even from just from being on the cell phone and constant email and internet... It was just a nice break from EVERYTHING.

Our last part of the trip was so fast paced. We were faced with time and with a constant rush of getting in and out of one city to another, but the cruise... Oh mann, for the first seven days of our trip, I rarely knew what time it was and I totally lost track of what day it was. It was a really nice LONG 7 days and it felt GOOD.

During the cruise we visited Malta, Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Nice and Monaco..Then on our land tour we went to Bilbao, Lourdes, Burgos, Carcassone, Estella, Logrono, Madrid and Barcelona... It was an insane amount of cities to explore all in 2 weeks and a total overload on learning about the history of each place. By Madrid, I was totally over and done with paying attention to the tour guide (also because he was boring and I wanted to shop instead, haha).

There were some pros and cons to the trip (which I will blog about seperately), but overall the trip was great. The ride back had - as Ge would call it - Write your will kinda turbulence, haha... So after experiencing that, I'm grateful to have made it back, even though I don't really want to be back, haha...

Last Day in Madrid

Today's our last day in Madrid =(

Last night we topped our vacation off with a flamenco show. It was Ehh.... OK. Actually the Flamenco dancers were really good, the show was just too long. We didn't really need 2 and a half hours long of a performance; just a 1 hour performance would've been fine. Oh well, I guess we now know its a tourist trap, just like figuring out that the real Moulin Rouge show in Paris was ALSO a tourist trap. MUN.

Here's a picture of us in Monaco. It's such a beautiful place and one I definitely recommend to visit. We went to Monaco during our cruise. The port was Villefranche and we drove to Nice and then to Monaco. It was a HELLA short ass excursion so I definitely want to go back and stay in Nice and/or Monaco for a while and maybe explore Cannes and St. Tropaz, too... One day dude... One day.....

Burgos

We're here now in Burgos and it's hella cold over here!! Good thing I bought this thick puff jacket that goes down to my knees!! Hahaha... Of all things that I had to buy here in Europe, I had to get a thick ass jacket... WHY? It wasn't just for Burgos but for Lourdes, France where it was freakin HELLLLLA COLD! (Thanks for the warning Travel Agent) I straight had shorts and a tank and it was like 50 degrees cold. OH MUN. Of course the souvineer shops knew moded people like me would not be prepared and would stock up on jackets, sweaters and scarfs galore. I got suckered into buying a thick puff jacket that was a little more than what I would've paid, but OH WELL.... I was freakin warm and that's all that mattered. Freakin for me and Jason, it was a hella fast $200 spent on unexpected jackets. Good thing Burgos is cold too, cuz we don't feel so bad for buying the jackets JUST for Lourdes.

Anyway, I'll have to save Lourdes for another post because it was such an awesome experience... but I'll share the two pics below. It was our first Paella and Sangria in Barcelona, Spain and it was muy delicioso! Yumm....

This is probably the biggest bird I've ever been a feet away from. There were people trying to feed this bird! Cah-razy! You see how sharp his beak is? Mun.

Happy 1st to us!

We're here in Monterey and it's our 1st year anniversary! Whoohoo! We made it (as if it was hard.. Ngeh!). We just got done wine tasting at Ventana (a definite recommend) and kinda overdid it with the wine purchases and now we're headed to another vineyard. We plan to go to Monterey Bay Aquarium after, then get ready for dinner at Roy's (thanks to Jason's boss who hooked us up with a giftcard for our anniversary!!). It's been a good day and a great weekend! We're heading back home tomorrow but we'll definitely be coming back!

Happy Anniversary Jas!! I love you mucho!
