What more now?

First Elephant Pharm, now this? What's going to happen to the subscription that Jason got me for Christmas? I JUST got my first mag in the mail yesterday! LOL. I didn't even have time to enjoy my subscription and now they're folding??? GEEZ. The economy is getting sooo bad. =( It's really sad.

On top of Elephant Pharm and Domino mag, Eye Spy is doing really bad, too..... Since last summer, I haven't been getting reimbursed for my e-vals because restaurants have failed to pay Eye Spy for the evaluations. Pretty bad. They've had to lay off some key people at Eye Spy and so now I'm just waiting to get paid (which I think isn't much.... honestly, I haven't kept track). I've postponed evaluating anything that I actually have to pay for out of my own pocket until they can pay me back for past e-vals. The only eval I have scheduled is doing a banquet call where I pretty much just pretend to inquire about having a banquet at a restaurant.... 10 minutes for $25.... hella easy. I just hope I get paid...

Geez, the economy is getting so bad. It makes you wonder who else is going to close up shop????

Closed.

So sad. I just got word that all Elephant Pharm stores will be closing. They filed for bankruptcy and so they will be closing all stores indefinitely. =( First it was the Los Altos store and NOW ALL OF THEM???? Mann... Hella sucks. I know the Walnut Creek and Berkeley stores were far to go to, but it was nice to know I could always go there to stock up on my Jane Iredale make-up if I needed to. I wonder if they're selling all their stuff on discount before they actually close???? I should stock up now!!!

The good thing is, Target is starting to sell more organic, chemical-free products like JASON, Dr. Bronners, Kiss My Face, so I can always just go there... But Jane Iredale! It's so freakin hard to find at stores... I think maybe Whole Foods sells JI, but I'm not even sure about that...... I guess I'm just gonna have to buy my make-up online. (Geez... shipping fees)

MMS

I love it when my girlfriends and I shop for each other via MMS texting. It's the best! We are ALWAYS on the look out for stuff that might fit our GF or stuff that we know that our GF would like/love. Take for example Harajuko bags.... It's Lani's FAVE and so whenever I'm at Ross, I'm taking pictures of like 5 different bags, sending them to her via MMS and then she tells me what she wants me to buy!! And Lot - anytime SHE goes to Ross, I can always count on her to take pictures of anything size 5 in case I might like it! I have at least 3 cute flats thanks to her! And then today -- all the way from Canada -- Nette sends me a pic of gray flats from Aldo outlet to see if I want her to purchase a pair for me!! Hahaha.. CRAZY! I love cell phone cameras and MMS texting!!

My boss is also great at being on the lookout for me, too!! When I told her that I was on the lookout for red patent peep toe sling backs (hahaha, hella specific), she found some at the mall, and bought them for me!! No cell phone picture taking at all!! She figured if I didn't like it, she could go back to the mall and return it... HELLA GOOD!! And hella confident!! I ended up keeping them... They were cute!!!!

Even when I'm not physically shopping... I can always count on my GFs to shop for me. I LOVE IT.

Sad Day

It was a sad day yesterday. I went to Elephant Pharm yesterday to buy my mom a Klean Kanteen, come to find that it's closing down =( BOOOOOO. I guess the economy is so bad that Elephant Pharm can't even keep up in Los Altos (of all places!). I must've come too late, because a lot of their stuff was gone... Everything that was left was 25% off, although it's not THAT great of a deal considering their stuff is a little expensive. Anyway, I bought a Klean Kanteen bottle, stocked up on my Zia Facial cleanser (I LOVE ZIA!) and also bought a Take out Menu Organizer (Knock Knock product) and non-toxic hair dye for my mom. I was pressed for time because the store was closing at 6 p.m. and I got in at like 5:30 p.m. Apparently, its last day is next Thurday, so if I can find some time between now and then, I'm definitely going to go back to buy more stuff!!!

What sucks is that there is NO OTHER store like Epharm. I know I can get my non-toxic, organic products at like Target or even Blossom, but STILL!!! It's just not the same....... E pharm is SUCH a cool store. It's like my adult Sanrio store where you just walk in and want to buy everything. Oh well... They do have stores in Berkeley and Walnut Creek... so I guess if I ever have a free weekend and I can make my way out there to shop..... Ugh. HELLA FAR.

Klean Kanteen

We have a few Klean Kanteen bottles and I love them! I have the one in green =) They're great to bring while you work out or when you're on trips... More importantly, it gets you out of buying plastic bottles!! Anyway, the reason why I'm blogging about it is because they're on sale today at Delight!!! I hella want to get all the colors, (especially the mocha one and the blue one) but I think Jason would have a fit, hahaha. We hella have no room to store these in the kitchen!!! They're not cheap at all, so now's a good time to buy one (I think the sale lasts till the end of today)!

I want these!

I know, you're probably thinking - WHY am I HYPE over buttons? Well, they're not just buttons - they're push pins!!! How cute! What a way to decorate your office!! I want to get these!! But $20 for freakin push-pins??? And you only get 18???? Hmmm... We'll see...

My percentage? 80% ..... Maybe... Just MAYBE... if I can convince myself to waste $20 (plus shipping btw), I could be the lucky owner of some really cute push pins by the end of the day! LOL.

Guilt Free Shopping

I found this website called Swap Style where you can basically shop by exchanging almost anything with fellow registered swapstyle users! It's a pretty cool concept and a neat idea of shopping and recycling at almost no cost (you have to pay for shipping)! You basically post items on what you would like to swap and if someone wants something of yours, you can look at their items that they've posted to see if there is anything you'd like in exchange... If you don't see anything you like, then you can deny the request and wait for someone else.... It's also like Ebay where you rate the users after you've done a transaction with them so that people can gain some credibility.... I'd hate to swap for a Gucci bag, come to find it was FAKE!!! I actually looked at the bags that were posted, and the users seem to do a good job of disclosing whether it is a "faux" or a "replica" hahaha... AKA Knock-offs!!! OH, and you also have to disclose if there are any tears or whatever....

Anyway, I think I might try this!! It's free and there's really NO obligation... I mean, you're never forced to trade if you don't want to.. and might as well when you got crap in your closet just sitting there with a < 5% chance of ever being used again!!! See what happens!
