Google Friend Connect

Has anyone noticed that the blogger follower feature is now Google Friend connect? I don't understand how to use it and how to add it to my blog...... I also don't know if it will be useful, seeing as almost everyone reads their blogs via Google reader (It's like why bother fixing up the site, right? LOL)... Seems pretty cool, though... Sounds like Google is trying to start up their own social network... Oh boy... I think I'm on social networking overload. LOL.
