SLR

Yesterday, we bought a Canon digital SLR! WOWZERS. Talk about big purchases!!! We decided to get one because 1.) I got a bonus from work 2.) It would be our anniversary gift to each other and 3.) It would be nice to have a good camera for when the baby arrives! Plus, buying it now would give us ample time to learn how to use it.... OH MUN. So after some research and seeking advice from other good photographers/friends, we chose the Canon SLR XSi... It ain't top of the line and it doesn't have HD video, but it's doable for amateurs like us and it's in the price range that we can afford.... Anyway, last night we tried playing around with it and BOY DO WE HAVE A LOT TO LEARN!! LOL!! Talk about complicateds!!!! It ain't like our Canon powershot, that's for sure!!!!! I'll definitely be needing some pointers from friends who are fellow Canon SLR owners (hint, hint - Mikey & Mike!) .....

Anyway, this whole urge to buy an SLR came from an ex-boss of mine... He showed me pics that his wife took of his kids and they were amazing pictures. AMAZING, especially for an amateur. He told me his wife one day just decided to buy an SLR and learned how to take pictures with these DVDs from Me Ra Koh... Anyway, her story inspired me and made me think that maybe I CAN take great pictures, too!! So of course, I bought Me Ra Koh's DVDs, LOL... Hella suckered in!! If they helped my ex-boss' wife, hopefully they'll help us out too! Hahaha. We'll see...
